Since
graduating with Diploma of Fine Arts in 1994, Auckland-based Wayne Ferguson
has found a balance between working as an exhibition technician in museums
and art galleries, running his own design company Photic Forms, and
exhibiting sculptures. In 1996 Ferguson patented his lamp-fitting design,Snake Lamp
design, a mythical bronze and copper limited edition lamp. By 1998, he had
prototyped the Lotus Lighting System which offeredthe
production of amodern based form, using stainless steel components.
His ‘Lotus Design’ went on to be highly commended at the New Zealand
Best Design Awards in 2002 Ferguson established

Forms Ltd in 2000 to manage the production and supply of a growing
product range and market. His recent product range Telescopic
utilising stainless and acrylic tubes focuses onstatic and
ambient illumination.
