Monica Eum, originally from Korea but trained in New Zealand, is exploring the  ornamental beauty of silver, one of the most versatile materials to make jewellery with. Combined with wood, plastic tube, greenstone, and other gemstones, her silver work extends its boundary

into a new dimension of creating the unexpected harmony of different materials she uses. It is also interesting to see that some of her jewellery shows a stark contrast in texture between silver and complementary material.
Much of her silver jewellery reflects both traditional oriental calmness and modernistic inspiration for simplicity. She also trained in sculpture and interior design as well as jewellery, she transcends the monotonous decorativeness of jewellery and moves forward to the realm of spatial art.
