Fine jewellery designer James McCarty is a rare and unique find, jJust like the objets d'art he creates for his clients. A self-described,  precious-material architect this treasure smith designs and creates to order. His passion lies in the challenge of original commissions ,expressing a client's personality through a combination of materials and form. His approach to design of jewellery is seamlessly balanced and proportional, complimenting the precious materials used  in detail  representing and celebrating  those  being adorned. 

His clients include high profile international Royalty , Rock Stars, and some of New Zealand's most respected fashion designers. His work has appeared on the catwalks of several New Zealand Fashion Week Shows as part of a collaborations with Adrian Hailwood, Claire Kingan Jones and Turet Knuefermann .  James ‘ interest in design and creating began early serving an apprenticeship with his families business in Auckland  . He then worked for premier goldsmiths. McCabe & McCarty Ltd  for 4 years in London’s Hatton Gardens – home of the worlds  finest  workshops and Jewellery  creating pieces for Aspreys , Garrards Boucheron and Graff . Also attending the prestigious London Guildhall University , his talents were recognised receiving awards from respected organisations  such as the Worshipful Company Of Goldsmiths , City & Guilds London Institute and British Jewellers Association

Now based in Ponsonby  Auckland ,  James has an extensive portfolio of work that he has created in close collaboration with a universal and loyal client base.
